Lavender Rose Moon Mocktail
A Drink for the Full Moon
Intended for ritual consumption and summer magic, the Lavender Rose Moon Mocktail was created for raising a glass to the full moon in July. This mocktail combines the floral notes of rose and lavender along with the citrusy brightness of lemon. The drink is finished with a sparkling mineral finish, making it ideal for either a private moment or a picnic under the stars.
This mocktail is perfect for moon circles. It’s perfect for the Litha season. Every sip of the mocktail, whether it contains a botanical spirit or not, brings intention and beauty to every sip. I love to serve it during full moons, garden parties, or quiet nights on the patio. It’s both beautiful and delicious as well as easy to make.
You’ll Love This Drink
- Floral and refreshing. Lavender & Rose create a soft, romantic base that’s balanced with citrus and bubbles
- Customizable. You can enjoy it as a simple syrup-based drink or add complexity with non-alcoholic botanical spirits
- Beautiful. The Moon Petal Sugar Rim, made with crushed rose & lavender is as magical as it looks
- Ritual-Friendly. Charge your mineral water under the moon for a lunar twist
- Taste-Test Approved. Our circle of testers gave it glowing reviews, both with and without the rim

Ingredients & Substitutions
You don’t need much to create this enchanting mocktail, just a few floral syrups, fresh citrus, and a sparkling finish. Here’s what I use, along with a few notes to help you customize.
- Lavender Syrup
Best for calming floral notes and dream energy. If you don’t have homemade, store-bought is fine (do I sound like Ina Garten? Also, I use store-bought) - Rose Syrup (or Rosewater)
Rose syrup adds sweetness and rich floral depth. If you opt for rosewater, just 1–2 drops will do. Too much can overwhelm the drink - Fresh Lemon Juice
Lemon brings bright, sunny clarity that balances the florals. For a duskier flavor, try substituting fresh pink grapefruit juice. It will change the flavor, but in the best possible way - Lemon Cucumber Serrano Amethyst Spirit (optional)
This non-alcoholic botanical spirit adds crisp cucumber, subtle heat, and herbal intrigue. Optional, but highly recommended (by me) - Topo Chico (Original or Flavored)
A bubbly mineral water that brings sparkle and texture. Use the original for a clean finish, or try Twist of Lime for citrus clarity or Twist of Grapefruit for added depth (especially if you sub in grapefruit for lemon juice). The flavored versions work especially well if you are skipping the non-alcoholic spirit
Optional Garnishes
- Moon Petal Rimming Sugar (optional but stunning)
A blend of sugar, dried rose petals, and a touch of culinary lavender. Adds visual magic and a gentle floral sweetness. You can skip it or just sugar half the rim for balance - Garnish
I love a fresh or dried lavender sprig or a tiny rosebud to complete the look

Sip with intention. This moonlit blend is made for beauty, balance, and soft illumination from within.
Taste Test Reactions
Every mocktail deserves a moment of real-world feedback. Here’s what our taste testers had to say:
Me: “I love everything about this.”
Tester 2: “Same:
Tester 3: “The sugar rim is a bit much. I like the drink, though.” When asked if a salt rim would be better, tester 3 said they’d prefer no rim at all.
So we’re calling it:
The drink itself is a win with all three testers. The Moon Petal Sugar Rim? Optional, but loved by 2 out of 3.
Practical Magic
Want to infuse your drink with a little moonlight? Place a few sealed bottles of Topo Chico outside overnight during the full moon. As the bubbles absorb lunar energy, set an intention—peace, insight, joy—whatever you’d like to call in. The next day, use this moon-charged mineral water (aka Moon Water) to top off your mocktail and create a true ritual elixir.
Original, Twist of Lime, or Twist of Grapefruit all work beautifully—just choose the one that resonates with your flavor mood or intention.
This simple step turns your drink into a seasonal spell—no herbs or incantations required.
What to Serve with the Lavender Rose Moon Mocktail
This mocktail pairs beautifully with any number of things, including these favorites from our own Litha feast:
- Santa Maria Tri-Tip
The bold flavor of the tri-tip contrasts beautifully with the floral sweetness of the drink - Peach & Tomato Caprese
Juicy peaches and heirloom tomatoes bring out the rose and lemon notes in the mocktail, while the basil plays beautifully against the lavender - Corn Salad
The bubbly brightness of the mocktail lifts the sweetness of the corn - Rosemary Lemon Shortbread
Keep the citrus energy going with a lightly sweet finish that doesn’t overpower the drink - Nectarine & Thyme Ice Cream
The fruity goodness and herbal notes pair well with the floral notes

Sip with Intention
The Lavender Rose Moon Mocktail brings beauty and calm (and a little sparkle!) to the moment, whether your hosting a moon circle or just enjoying a quiet evening outside. Drinking it feels like a ritual, even if you’re just sipping it solo.
Charge your moon water ahead of the full moon on July 10 (if you so desire). This simple act that can turn this mocktail into something truly magical…
The Full Moon Lavender Ritual will be coming to the blog on July 3. It’s a gentle way to honor the season and align with the full moon’s energy.
