Mint Extract
Making extracts for baking is super easy. Basically you are making an infusion of something by soaking it in alcohol. Vodka is often the alcohol of choice because it has a clean, balanced taste that picks up the flavor of what you want to infuse. How to Cook Beans Fast!
Last week as I was browsing recipes, I realized that I haven’t canned all my dry beans yet. Which means that the recipe I wanted to use needed garbanzo beans and I didn’t have time to soak them overnight and then cook them. So I turned to the internet. Which was a brilliant idea, by the way. I happened upon The Kitchn (one of my all time favorite sites, anyway) where they had posted a foolproof way to cook beans FAST. Well, fast enough for my needs, anyway. So that is what I did.
