Freezer-to-Grill Chinese Chicken Marinade

This Chinese chicken marinade is freezer-friendly and full of bold flavor. Made with honey, ginger, and a touch of red pepper, it’s perfect for grilling straight from the freezer — no extra steps needed.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper
  • 3 lbs chicken, bone-in or boneless

Instructions
 

Freezer Instructions

  • Combine all marinade ingredients in a freezer-safe gallon bag.
  • Add chicken, seal the bag, and smoosh gently to combine.
  • Press out excess air, reseal, label, and freeze flat.

Cooking Instructions

  • Remove from freezer and thaw in the fridge overnight.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  • Grill, turning once, until cooked through and caramelized on the edges.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve with stir-fried broccoli, jasmine rice, or egg foo young for a takeout-style dinner that starts in your freezer.
