    Pesto, pesto, pesto

    September 25, 2011 /

Pesto is one of my favorite things to eat. There is just something so refreshing about it. However, I do NOT have a green thumb, and I can’t grow basil for anything. And basil is super expensive at my local grocery store – when they even have it. What’s a girl to do? Punt. That’s what. I’ve gotten some inspiration from Kimberly over at Poor Girl Eats Well. She’s really made an effort to show how you can get the most out of what you buy or get. And her recipe for Scallion Pesto is absolutely amazing. This is NOT a recipe for Scallion Pesto. 😉 What it is, though,…

    Princess Pies

    September 13, 2011 /

Soooo…. That whole in a jar thing. I’m kind of obsessed. Yes, yes I am. Since the limeade in a jar experiment, I’ve had lemon meringue stuck in my head. But not just any lemon meringue – pink lemonade meringue. And in a jar, of course. Oddly, I’ve never made lemon meringue at home. I’ve made it at the bakery, but that isn’t really scratch. And I debated on the crust. I polled people on facebook about their preference of crust: pastry or graham cracker. There were plenty that chose sides, with pastry edging out graham cracker by just a bit. I ended up going with the graham cracker crust…

    In a Jar…

    August 22, 2011 /

Across the blogosphere it seems like dessert in a jar is all the rage. I know I love it, anyway, and I have no problem jumping on the bandwagon. Since I can anyway, I always having canning jars around, so finding another use for them is right up my alley. 🙂 My daughter was visiting a couple of weeks ago (with my gorgeous grandson), and I made some Cherry Limeade Pies from Kristan’s awesome blog, Confessions of a Cookbook Queen for my weekly showing of Project Runway. They were a hit with everyone there, including my daughter, who promptly went home and made them for her family. Anyway, now the…

    Friendly Recipe For Summer Cherries

    August 10, 2011 /

By Whitney Donohue Moapa Valley Progress One of the amazing things about living in a small town is how friendly everyone is. If you head to the grocery story, you are bound to run into someone you know. But even if you don’t, it seems like the people that are there are friendlier than in the city. Wandering around the produce section wondering what to do with the amazing cherries that are on display, the employees are more than willing to help you, and it is just as likely that a friendly stranger or two will add a suggestion or three. This particular cherry recipe comes from someone I feel…

Waning Gibbous Moon
Today’s Magic: The moon is in her waning gibbous phase, a time for gentle release, reflection, and refinement. This is the perfect energy for letting go of what no longer serves you—whether that’s physical clutter, outdated habits, or old digital files. Today, consider a mini reset: clear out a drawer, tidy a folder, or take a quiet moment to journal on what you’re ready to release as the moon continues to shrink toward her next new phase. Even tiny shifts make space for fresh inspiration to enter.
