    Chocolate Covered Strawberries

    January 31, 2013 /

Super quick, super easy, and super sweet. That’s what these strawberries amount to. Chocolate covered strawberries are probably my most favorite dessert. There’s something just so… decadent about them. Seriously, though, they are soooo easy to make! Really! Make a bunch for the sweet people in you’re life. They’ll know how much you really love them. 🙂

Making extracts for baking is super easy. Basically you are making an infusion of something by soaking it in alcohol. Vodka is often the alcohol of choice because it has a clean, balanced taste that picks up the flavor of what you want to infuse. I’m lucky to live in a small town that has a good focus on agriculture. Even though I live in the middle of the desert, Moapa Valley has been a farming community from way back when. It’s really too bad that I personally struggle to grow things. 🙂  However, I’m also very lucky to have friends with the magic green thumb who are willing to…

    Smoky Chili Lime Salt

    January 10, 2013 /

This smoky chili lime salt was originally created for a local food swap – just a handful of home cooks, trading spells and spices in the spirit of community. It was one of the first things to disappear from the table. Bright lime zest, deep smoky chili, and mineral-rich salt come together in a blend that’s as bold as it is versatile. Whether you’re rimming a glass for a citrusy mocktail, sprinkling it on roasted veggies, or dusting it over grilled chicken, this salt carries a little heat, a little tang, and a whole lot of intention. A little glow-up ? This Chili Lime Salt first made its appearance at…

    How to Cook Beans Fast!

    September 4, 2012 /

Last week as I was browsing recipes, I realized that I haven’t canned all my dry beans yet. Which means that the recipe I wanted to use needed garbanzo beans and I didn’t have time to soak them overnight and then cook them. So I turned to the internet. Which was a brilliant idea, by the way. I happened upon The Kitchn (one of my all time favorite sites, anyway) where they had posted a foolproof way to cook beans FAST. Well, fast enough for my needs, anyway. So that is what I did.

Waning Gibbous Moon
Today’s Magic: The moon is in her waning gibbous phase, a time for gentle release, reflection, and refinement. This is the perfect energy for letting go of what no longer serves you—whether that’s physical clutter, outdated habits, or old digital files. Today, consider a mini reset: clear out a drawer, tidy a folder, or take a quiet moment to journal on what you’re ready to release as the moon continues to shrink toward her next new phase. Even tiny shifts make space for fresh inspiration to enter.
